I’ve Delivered
As a nurse and your State Representative, I’ve brought real resources back to North and Northeast Portland while standing up for working families.
Local Investments: Secured millions for North and Northeast Portland, including investments in the Albina Vision Trust redevelopment, improvements to George Park, $15 million for a future North Portland Aquatic Center, funding for the Williams & Russell CDC to combat displacement in historically Black neighborhoods, fought to keep St. John’s Community Center open, kept the bottle drop redemption center out of St. Johns and supported the Native American Youth and Family Center.
Reproductive Healthcare: Sponsored legislation to protect abortion rights & gender-affirming care.
Protecting Workers: Passed legislation strengthening child labor protections and increasing penalties for employers who violate labor laws. I continue fighting for fair wages and safe workplaces.
Healthcare: I have championed patient safety, supported safe hospital staffing, and worked to ensure that Oregonians have quality healthcare.
Fighting For
Housing for All: Expanding affordable housing, addressing homelessness, and supporting mental health and addiction recovery services.
Healthcare for All: Lowering healthcare costs, strengthening the healthcare workforce, and safe staffing in hospitals.
Support for Schools: Fully funding education and ensuring every student has a safe and supportive learning environment.
Equity: I’m the first Black, LGBTQ+ member of the state legislature. I bring a voice that hasn’t historically been heard.
