Our democracy is facing its biggest threat in 100 years: an authoritarian president, a complacent congress, & a loss of the balance of powers. But countering Trump is not enough.

For 30+ years, government in Washington has been stuck in partisan gridlock & corrupted by money. While politicians make promises & blame their opponents, Americans are hurting. Rather than focusing on scotch-tape fixes, Democrats need a new vision for the future.

To win in our district – where Democrats average 35% of votes in the general election—our candidate needs to assure thousands of non-affiliated voters & Republicans that she will focus, not on retribution, but on prioritizing & solving problems that unite us all.

I AM THAT CANDIDATE.

As a rural pediatrician I have worked & led in rural hospitals for 15 years. Daily, I build trust with people across roles, experiences, & politics, including those who reject traditional medicine. I collaborate with my patients, acknowledging their commitment to their children & empowering them to see their strengths, even as politicians shame them for relying on government programs for food & healthcare. The struggles of my patients & their families, echoed across the district, compels me to advocate for:

  1. Strong rural economies supported by locally-owned farms, ranches, & industries that offer family wages, benefits & growth opportunities.
  2. Medicare-for-all. While we continue to argue about who pays, our infrastructure & workforce shrink, and rural communities suffer.
  3. Thriving public lands & healthy water, air, soil & energy systems, where locals benefit from our investments in renewable energy, and innovation & stewardship balance the needs of resource utilization & conservation.
  4. A functioning, future-ready government, that leads globally in science, human rights, & diplomacy.
