A Leader In Salem

Nancy works hard to get Salem’s priorities straight. She focuses on urgent needs: access to health care, affordability, homelessness, child care, safe communities, and an economy that works for everyone. She championed legislation to lower taxes for working Oregonians and businesses creating new jobs. She brings know-how to helping small businesses, investing in schools, advancing job skills training, and fostering research for new industries and energy technologies.

When access to health care challenged thousands of constituents, Nancy led efforts to get alternative care and new medical response teams, improve urgent care, and limit powerful corporate interests.

Nancy has helped create good-paying jobs and family supports by advocating for child care facilities, YMCA, Civic Park, affordable housing production, and industrial site readiness.

Achieving Results. Nancy passed legislation to stop runaway fees on college student debit cards and safeguard seniors in residential care. She led efforts to protect renters and mobile home residents and championed safe sleep sites and “tiny homes” to reduce homelessness. She passed bills to cut red tape and help workers at Relief Nurseries, caregivers at assisted living facilities, and behavioral health providers. She’s fighting unfair prescription drug pricing.

Making government more efficient and accountable, Nancy passed bills to increase public contract accountability and bring transparency to campaign spending.

Nancy championed increased funding for addiction and recovery treatment and school health clinics. She led efforts to establish a cybersecurity center to protect Oregonians and add wildfire cameras critical for early wildfire detection and firefighter response.
